IS PARENT & STUDENT STRIKE FOR A DAY THE WAY TO GO ? PLEASE ANSWER YES OR NO WITH YOUR REASONS.

32 comments:

  1. Yes. If we can protest to support muslims all over the world (Gaza, Iraq, boycot products etc)for justice then why cant we have a one day peacful strike to get the school board's attention.

  2. YES - strike for 1 day to support students, parents at the grounds opposite the school. If the male dominated school board doesnt have the balls to listen to parents concerns on a regular basis through PTA then we as parents have no option but to strike. Ya Allah pls.. soften the school boards heart so that they may become kind to our children.

  3. I'll have to say yes not because I dont like the school board but purely as a freedom/democracy thing. Imagine what the world would have been today if Malcom X, Martin Luther King, Muhammed Ali & others didnt stand up for what was right.

  4. yes plz. all gvic parents & friends must unite and have this stike/protest to show the school board that we are tired of individually flagging concerns and not having the sorted.

  6. yes i agree but then what will we achive the board doesn't care about our kids because there lazy and all the lebs won't be at school but the fijians will be at school because these parents have no gut

  7. So its a leb Vs fijian thing now is it? Honestly, Lebs are troublemakers all over the world. Suggest that you take your kids to school run by lebs if there is one. And don't claim Malek Fahd because it is run by AFIC which has majority of Fijians on the Board and the principal and most teachers are fijians. Why don't they have any issues there???
Because they have a STRONG principal who knows what he is doing!!!

  8. Suppose a new PTA is formed by the board. Those of you that formed the first one and hiding behind this blog are not in the new PTA. Now I ask you what other reason will you come up with next. If I was the board I would'nt want to work with trouble makers and position seekers.I hope the board knows who they are.

  9. Before you go around accussing people i suggest you bring forth your proof!!
This cowardly project is NOT the work of the previous PA...i know this because i was on the PA. We were and are not trouble makers nor position seekers, the proof for that is we could have continued with the PA but we take the words of the board as genuine and await patiently for them to decide when is the appropriate timing for a PTA. You owe the 6 of us an apology!!
It is very apparent the blog is a result of a power struggle...how can we forget what resulted from LMA's power struggle?? Not that this would excuse the circus show. This blog serves no purpose and achieves nothing...any person who GENUINELY cares about the school can tell you that!
Funy how the blame game went...first ex-staff, then mainaz, then board members, then nisar now us!! The true 'concerned parents' should take some responsibilty for their actions and own up!
    Umm Hachem :)

  10. Fistly to the people that are dividing us as LEB VS FIJI grow up, I am a leb and proud of it and have many fiji friends this school is an ISLAMIC SCHOOL and not to be pointed out what nationality it is, so grow up....how immature you are. This is going nowhere and advise who ever is breaking up this school to stop and watch above him/her as GOD is watching, and may god help you on judgement day..Everybody seems to blame everybody- is this a JOKE...come on all we have to do as civilized people is get together and discuss this massive situation

to the person who wrote the comment two above this one. "Those of you that formed the first one and hiding behind this blog are not in the new PTA. Now I ask you what other reason will you come up with next. If I was the board I would'nt want to work with trouble makers and position seekers"
    my reply to you:
    1. pls. meet me in person at school or call me on 0421036990 so I can show you written evidence that the GVICPA was formed to work with the school. We closed the GVCIPA after having a meeting with the board and upon there request, because they will be forming PTA in the very near future.
    2. GVICPA's primary objective was to capture concerns from parents & students and find a solution together with the principal & school board.
    3. we have not setup this blog.
    4. if GVICPA had to stir up trouble then why would we have had dialogues with board members.
    5. it appears that someone who has copies of the documentation that the GVICPA distributed to the parents is using it against the board & the parents.
    6. GVICPA was setup for a good cause and NOT to acquire NON PAID positions in GVICPA or school board.
NOTE- am sure that you have some goodness in your heart, pls.. focus on them rather then increasing your bad deeds. pls.. forgive me if I have hurt you :) Looking forward to meeting you in person. My humble request to the owner of this blog to close it down and wait for school board to form PTA. The school board secretary & Chairman has promised the former GVICPA that they will form a PTA in the very near future. Lets trust them for once.

  12. TO ALL I STRONGLY BELIEVE THAT A STRONG STRIVE IS THE BEST WAY AROUND IT, IT SEEMS THESE PEOPLE AIN'T TAKING US SERIOUS ENOUGH SO:

    DEAR BOARD

IF WE RETURN TO OUR SCHOOL NEXT TERM IN
APRIL AND FIND OUT THE LEADERSHIP OF
THIS SCHOOL IS CHANGE (MR ALI) THEN I
PROMISE YOU THAT NOT ONLY A STRIKE WILL
HAPPEN BUT THE MEDIA WILL BE INVITED AND
    THIS IS NOT A JOKE

I am sick and tired of this school board running the show, do they or do they not want a school with a high graded reputation - well, so far you all prove otherwise.

  13. you want to call the media to an ISLAMIC school...Isnt our negative muslim coverage enough for you? What kind of Dawah is that? the people of Camden would probarly be cheering if u did....pointing fingers at us saying 'seee we didnt want those muslims here'...they r not going to look at it in a way to help u but in a way to put down muslims again and again and again
    Allahu Alam
We should unite and FEAR Allah swt because we r all going back to Allah swt so no dont invite any media, instead invite people to the real Islam by giving out good Dawah inshallah.
    and Allah swt knows best

  14. Br Fiaaz..is this an April's fool joke?? it sure sounded like it.
Perfection is for Allah, so as mere humans there is always room for improvement but that (or even this blog) is not the way to go.
    A strike??...how do u propose a strike?...keep the kids home?? lol
the board meets collectively once a month, organise a meeting with them to sort out your concerns. Otherwise i STRINGLY advise all parents who have geninue concerns regarding their childs education to speak with ur childs teacher/principle. You would be very surprised what a calm civil conversation can achieve!
    Well said above post!!

  15. to the person above.what a joke, the school board has never had meetings with parents and never will. getting media might be the a good way in expose the corrupt muslim school board. we can get photos of school board and admin staff from the school magazine nad pass it to the media. also we can send this blogs website address to the media, education dept and AIS.

  16. to comment posted on March 31, 2009 2:13 AM ( 2 post above) you are saying -all parents who have geninue concerns regarding their childs education to speak with ur childs teacher/principle. MR ALI & TEACHERS CANT EVEN GO TO TOILETS WITHOUT NOTIFYING THE SHOOL BOARD, HOW ON EARTH ARE THEY GOING TO HELP PARENTS/STUDENTS.

  19. Lets all go serious now and stop talking about each other and do something that is right.

LETS HAVE A SCHOOL STRIKE NEXT TERM
IF WE REALISE THAT THEY CHANGED OUR
    PRINCIPAL.

THIS HAS GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH ISLAM
BECAUSE MORE WE SHUT OUR MOUTHS ABOUT
THE TRUTH AND NOT DO ANYTHING, THEN WE
WILL GET PUNISH FOR KEEP A BLIND EYE AND

  20. to br Faaiz. why should the parents strike becuase of mr ali. if anything strike should be for parents & students. PTA is like a union for parents & students. teachers have a australia wide Teacchers Union that fight for them. if mr ali was a bit concerned then he would have already spoken to the teachers union. I support the strike and should happen next term if the board hasnt formed PTA, sorted the uniform etc

    ReplyDelete
  21. yes please. protesting is not un islamic. All unjust rulers have there fate in this world. School Board pls.. change and have the PTA, uniform, Heejab, arabic studies fxied before Allahs wrath comes your way. Iam happy for protest to happen in term 2.

    ReplyDelete
  22. funny how everyone here is demanding PTA..threatening with strikes and media involvment...
where was everyone when a couple of parents tried organising a PA only a couple of weeks ago?
was everything fine and rosey then and for some reason things turned south??

  23. I couldnt agree more with above comment. Why are the parents so scared to approach the school board face to face like the previous Parents Assoc. Parents dont have to hide behind blogs to get there messgae across to board. You are living in Australia not Fiji or Lebanon. No one will abuse or sack you or your kids from school just because you are trying to improve few things. wake up my bro & sisters.

  24. protest has always made people come together for the same cause. Muslims have many times had protest to show support for muslims overseas. The parents of GVIC should be able to do the same adn insha Allah the blessing of Allah will be with the parents as long as there intentions are good ie to support the students/parents improve the GVIC conditions.

  25. only parents protest pls..next term.

  28. parents are so scared to speak up, cause once they do the principal and staff start to mistreat them and their children, subhan allah, the saying, the truth hurts is so true

  29. The only alternative to resolve all problems is to address all our concerns that we have directly to the Ministry who are responsible for approval and to the Prime Ministers Office, The AIS and the Media who should be aware of what is transpiring in this community. Once a letter is sent an independent inquire will start and it will go to the core of any matter. Writing in the blog has not helped in any way. Nor talking with the Principal has helped. The Principal lacks inter personal skills and if any issue is raised he instantly gets angry - Y? Maybe over stressed and unable to cope with the community. He should be sent for counselling so a congenial atmosphere could be created in school congenial for study...The school needs leaders who possess good interpersonal skills for communication...He lacks empathy...while at the same time uses his vision to uplift the standard of the school...May be this is one of the reason why many teachers get angry - Over Stressed at work and dumping all stress on the children...

  31. 1. Pay off correct behavior, not misbehavior. Reinforce polite requests, not whining, teasing and tantrums. Reinforce calm discussions, not arguments and power struggles.

    2. Think before you talk. Say what you mean. Mean what you say. Reward yourself for being consistent.

    3. Expect good behavior from your children. Children must know what you expect from them and what they can expect from you. When children can predict how you will behave in reaction to them, they will make better behavioral choices themselves.

    4. Children believe what you tell them. Coach your children on ways to behave appropriately. Teach your children that effort is essential. Use plenty of encouragement. When you encourage your children, they will see that you have faith and confidence in them, and will have it in themselves.

    5. Once you recognize a misbehavior pattern, establish a plan. Tell them the rules in advance and be specific and reasonable. Using charts or contracts, spotlight success and provide support and encouragement.

    6. Use punishments that teach decision-making and accountability. Children survive reasonable punishments, such as restriction and time-outs. Do not punish when you are angry.

    7. Begin teaching responsibility and decision-making when your children are young. This will prepare them for the real world. Remember, children need limits, structure, ground rules and consistency. Children will see these qualities as an expression of your love and concern.

    8. Focus on your children's positive qualities but love them regardless of their behavior.

    9. Teach your children to seek self-reward—to feel good about doing the right thing.

    10. Provide a healthy and pleasant family climate. Emphasize each other's strengths and accept one another's weaknesses.
