p.s. to the above comment Mr. Shiraz can be tough at times but he is a straight forward teacher.

    2. change majority of teachers
    3. i think once the above 2 are addressed it will be a better school.

  30. to the mother of the yr 1 student, do you really think that they care how they are treating these poor kids, my kids hated going to school cause of the way the teachers treat students and the sad thing is there is no one to turn to in that school, not even the new disipline and welfare worker is interested in listening to what we have to say, they have opened this school more as an investment than in the welfare of these kids, why do you think the majority of these teachers dont have all their kids in this school and they have them in different schools, cause they dont want their kids to be treated the way our kids are being treated...

  31. The only alternative to resolve all problems is to address all our concerns that we have directly to the Ministry who are responsible for approval and to the Prime Ministers Office, The AIS and the Media who should be aware of what is transpiring in this community. Once a letter is sent an independent inquire will start and it will go to the core of any matter. Writing in the blog has not helped in any way. Nor talking with the Principal has helped. The Principal lacks inter personal skills and if any issue is raised he instantly gets angry - Y? Maybe over stressed and unable to cope with the community. He should be sent for counselling so a congenial atmosphere could be created in school congenial for study...The school needs leaders who possess good interpersonal skills for communication...He lacks empathy...while at the same time uses his vision to uplift the standard of the school...May be this is one of the reason why many teachers get angry - Over Stressed at work and dumping all stress on the children...

  33. I THINK EVERYONE IS FORGETTING THE MOST IMPORTANT THING.... THE CHILDREN!! I AM A TEACHER AND I WILL TELL YOU FOR A FACT THAT MOST STUDENTS ARE NOT BROUGHT UP WITH PROPER MANNERS AND ETHICS BY THEIR PARENTS AT HOME SO THEY COME TO SCHOOL AND WE AS TEACHERS HAVE TO PUT UP WITH ALL THEIR S***! ID LIKE ANYBODY TO WALK IN THE SHOES OF A TEACHER FOR ONE DAY THEN SEE HOW IT REALLY IS. SO PARENTS, STOP BLAMING THE TEACHERS (JUST BECAUSE THAT'S THE EASIER THING TO DO) AND START BRINGING UP YOUR KIDS WITH MORE RESPECT AND MANNERS SO WE CAN DO OUR JOB OF TEACHING BETTER INSTEAD OF SPENDING 90% OF OUR LESSONS MANAGING AND SEATING TINY RASCALS EVERYDAY

  36. In certain parts of the world, people enjoy freedom of conscience and choice, are free to lead their lives in peace and amity, to devote their energies to teaching and preaching, researching and making new discoveries. Yet even these parts of the world have not always been so tolerant, nor free from strife, nor disposed towards the co-existence of different peoples, sects and groups, still less sufficiently broad-minded, to accommodate differences of opinion.

Mankind has seemed, many times, to be bent upon self-destruction, and passed through stages when, by its own misdeeds, it has forfeited any right to survival. Men have sometimes behaved like crazed and ferocious beasts, flinging all culture and civilization, arts, literature, decency, the canons of moral and civil law, to the winds.

All of us know that the writing of history is of a relatively recent origin. The ‘pre-historic’ era was very much longer. The decline of mankind when it relapsed into savagery was by no means an agreeable task for historians and writers to record. Nevertheless, we do find narratives of the downfall of empires and the decay of human society, told at long intervals in the pages of history.
Very often these destructions are done by their own people.

  37. The Principal needs to be FIRED!!!!!!

My son was recently attacked in his classroom being repeatedly punched by a peer member in his class.

I was contacted by the Disciplinary Teacher to inform me of the matter and was advised that when I arrive at the school it would be discussed with me.

When I arrived at the school the Disciplinary Teacher advised me of the occurrence of the incident and that the student who attacked my son has an anger problem and that this is his 3rd incident at the school. Through-out the whole meeting with the Disciplinary Teacher not once did the Principal bother to come and meet with us. Being "Principal" of the school of course I had the expectation that he should have attended to us as soon as we reached the school to explain the incident and what measures would be taken to rectify the incident however instead of him doing this we had to ask the admin staff to see him then he made us wait 30 mins before seeing us and when he did see us he didn't even have the guts to apologise !!!

The Principal is rude, cold hearted and if he can't deal with such an serious issue like this then he should be fired IMMEDIATELY!!!!

  38. I think you are the parent who was fighting with every one on the way. I had an appointment with the principal yesterday after school but could not see him because of you. You fought with at least three other people before going to see the principal. Who do you think you are. I think if you already had a discusiion with discipline teacher that should be enough. You should not tell school what to do. School has policies. You are the same person who always talks a lot of negative things about school in the afternoon. You think you are too good. Why should principle apologise you. You are the rude one. You only want to fight with others.
About waiting, I waited and went home. I dont complain because I can see princple was so busy. You should be lucky that he saw you without appointment. Did you even think about others waiting. You are the problem

since this shaitaan was set up GVIC kept progressing.

Keep on trying to conceal the truth and you will keep on failing

  40. I'LL SEE YOU SAY THAT WHEN YOUR CHILD GETS ATTACKED - ALSO HOW CAN I BE THE SAME PERSON THAT SAYS NEGATIVE THINGS ABOUT THE SCHOOL WHEN I'M NOT EVEN THERE IN THE AFTERNOONS - SHOWS HOW MUCH GOSSIP YOU LISTEN TO. MY PROBLEM WAS WITH THE SITUATION AND HOW IT WAS HANDLED NOT WITH THE SCHOOL...WHAT'S THE SAYING...OH YES "THE TRUTH HURTS"!!!!!!!!

  41. Get over it!

My son has been bullied too... But boys will always be boys. These things are bound to happen in schools. If you dont like the way the school handled your problem, then there are plenty of other schools around!

  44. Some school teachers at GVIC don't know proper english. They speak with a fijian hindi accent. They communicate in hindi with each other infront of children. This is setting a bad example because the students are told not to speak in any other languge other than english in school. Girls are told not to wear make up or jewellary but when you enter school female teachers are doing it. very bad example.

  45. Salam, i hav many issues with this school
    1) took years to get good arabic and quran teachers
    2) uniform quality is appaling
    3) most teachers indian, there should b a mixture. I swear on God i asked my son randomly wat country do we live in and he said india
    4) teachers need to set example- makeup, jewlery and make up is setting a hypicritical example
    5) teachers should push their individual views (whetha religious or not) on the kids. eg- my son came home and said his teacher said all scientists believe that they r god. well wat about all the Christian, Muslim, athiests ect scientists???
    6) more organised carpark- kids running everywhere its ridiculus.
    7) ect ect ect
